This exhibition of the world's largest annual competition for press photographs and the accompanying book feature the best photojournalistic work of the year 2001. Approximately 200 photographs will be displayed and divided into 9 categories. An international committee judged 49,235 entries submitted by 4,171 photographers from 123 countries. Erik Refner, winner of the 2001 World Press Photo of the Year Award (see illustration on the left), will be present at the opening of the exhibition.
