HENRI CARTIER-BRESSON/ GEORG EISLER

Bilder einer Freundschaft

03.06.2003 - 03.08.2003

A Leica Gallery Exhibition

WestLicht is showing photography from Henri Cartier-Bresson (b.1908) from Eisler’s collection, as well as examples of works from the Viennese painter Georg Eisler (1928-1998). Cartier-Bresson and Eisler spent time together painting and drawing. The strong connection between the French Leica photographer and the younger Austrian artist was defined through related artistic beliefs and high mutual esteem.
During this exhibition, the Vienna Leica Gallery will present the award winning photo series “Traces of War – The Balkans” from Paul Pellegrin.
